While long trips are impossible, by the will of fate and thanks to one new wonderful person in my life I found myself in Paris for a whole month. I don’t plan on much text — I will add photos as I process them and leave comments under them. There will be several pages that I’ll gradually add. So, November and December of 2024 in the best city in the world, Paris!
First day. Of course, straight to the main symbol of the city!
One of the copies of the Statue of Liberty given to the United States by the French
Inappropriate building or «the hares let the fox live in the hut»
The interior is poor, by the way this is considered Russian territory…
Night walks — Pont du Port à l’Anglais, Alfortville.
The most important part of French culture is food 🙂
Escargots de Bourgogne — Grape snails
The best steak of my life — cooked by a specialist from Belgium
Crevettes Grises & Huîtres
Paris Catacombs and traditional boat trip on the Siene.
Walls and warehouses of bones and skulls
There are even skulls in bags and carts… I don’t know where they take them.
Traditional boat trip on the Seine. Too bad it was raining heavily.
I didn’t want to stick my head out from behind the glass shelter to take pictures.
We moored in the evening.
The day ended in very pleasant company in the La Defence area.
It turns out that snow can fall here in November!
Park Interdépartemental de Choisy Paris Val de Marne
Typical French market. The result is not inferior to restorants with the best owner!
The market surprised me with its very high-quality products and friendly and talkative traders
Farmers Cheese Shop — Abondance, Parmesan, Morbier, Mont Dor, Brie, Appenzeller…
… Roquefort, Saint Agur, Bleu
Nature morte de produits simples indisponibles dans un pays lointain…
A night outing to the nostalgic 4th quarter and its environs.
Paroisse Saint-Paul Saint-Louis, Rue Saint-Antoine, 4e Arrondissement ⇒

And Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 11e Arrondissement

Gare de Lyon. This is where my first acquaintance with Paris began a long time ago.
Cimetiére du Pére-Lachaise. A real open-air museum of architecture and sculpture. There are many burials of celebrities whose lives and work were connected with Paris. Tombes de Frédéric Chopin, Michel Legrand, Simone Signoret et Yves Montand, d’Édith Piaf, Jim Morrison (The Doors), Victor Noir.
About one of the tomb. You might think that is the grave of a famous photographer. But no! This is the future grave of a photographer, reserved on the former burial site of an Austrian lady. By the way, the photographer’s work is dedicated to photographing burial vaults and graves. The QR-code placed on the vault sends you to the association’s website with images.
